"Losing Earth: The decade we almost stopped climate change.  A tragedy in two acts."

By Nathaniel Rich

As I write this blog, a massive wildfire (the state's largest ever in recorded history) is devastating the state of California; red tide is killing manatees and sea turtles on California's gulf coast; arctic ice is melting at a rate of over 1% per year.  What's happening to our planet?

While I have not read this entire article (the article encompasses nearly the whole issue of the NYT magazine this week), it's clear that human-caused climate change is devastating our planet, and that we have probably passed the point of no return.  Is there anything we can do to at least slow the pace of earth damage?  So far, the article is discouraging, but it's worth reading.
