August 26

First...a callout in honor of Senator John McCain, who left this world yesterday, August 25th.  Sen McCain was a true hero, having served 5 1/2 years in a Hanoi POW camp, then 6 terms as a US senator.  He was one of the few politicians who put his country ahead of his political party.
RIP John McCain.  We will miss you and your wisdom!

See a review of Sen McCain's recent book,  The Restless Wave.

Tuesdays with Morrie (1997)
By Mitch Albom
Sixteen years after graduating from Brandeis University, sportswriter Mitch Albom happened to see a TV interview with his professor, Morris Schwartz, and he learns Schwartz is dying of ALS.  Mitch decides to visit him, and they end up meeting every Tuesday, during which Morrie shares life lessons with his former student.  Morrie shares regrets, talks about expressing emotions, lessons learned, reconciliation, love, grief, and a whole host of life experiences.  Everyone needs a mentor, someone older and wiser to listen to and learn from; Morrie filled this need for Mitch.
