The Good House (2013)
By Ann Leary

This is a well-written story about a woman's denial that she is an alcoholic.  Hildy is a successful realtor in a New England coastal town (not unlike Barrington).  The story is populated with realistic characters and many realistic scenarios.  It culminates in a tragic climax in which Hildy finally realizes her need - a need both for help and for human companionship.

How many alcoholics are out there who simply think they can manage their illness through "moderation"?  This novel was a reminder to reach out to those who struggle with alcohol addiction - and any other addictions.
