I've Been Thinking...Reflections, Prayers and Meditations for a Meaningful Life (2018)By Maria Shriver
If ever there were a book for today, it's Maria Shriver's I've Been Thinking. In 50 or so entries, she shares wisdom acquired through a lifetime filled with raising four children, working as a news anchor and journalist, serving as a governor's wife, but also suffering through tremendous losses as well. Through it all, her faith in God is her anchor, as these meditations show. Each one begins with a quote, sometimes by a saint or faith leader, sometimes an author, sometimes Maria herself. Her meditations cover a variety of themes and subjects: motherhood, being a woman, time, laughter, peace in our hearts and homes (to help us cope with fear and challenging times, a lifestyle of gratitude (for all of our blessings) to help us live happier lives. While Maria makes reference to her own Roman Catholic faith, she includes quotes from leaders of other religions. Each entry runs only 2-5 pages, just enough to jumpstart the day, and each ends with a prayer.
